I purchased my first piece of art at the age of 22. My purple abstract resin painting hung in my apartment, slowly inspiring me. Learning of my love of painting was a slow burn; I attended a few paint-and-wine classes and found myself one day painting on a massive canvas in our little one-bedroom apartment, with my canvas leaned up against the couch, and me sitting cross-legged on the floor. For my birthday that year, my husband bought me a proper easel and from then on, I was officially a painter.
I’ve discovered the joy of working with my hands and accessing my creative side. Finding inspiration in the wildest places, like a children’s book, or at the beach, has helped me to stay present in the moment and fully capitalize on the happiness present in my life.
My family and I travel all over the world, and painting is one thing I can do from anywhere. We are currently living in Santiago, Chile, where I imagine the mountains will take hold in my heart and come out in my future works.
